The 3 Days Tour from Fes to Marrakech: In this 3-day journey, you will experience stunning views and cultural diversity in a short amount of time. Firstly, we depart from the cultural city of Fes to visit Ifran city. Moreover, we visit the Cedar Forest to see the Barbary apes. Furthermore, spend an overnight under the starry sky in the Desert camp located in the heart of the Sahara Desert, where you can ride camels into the middle of nowhere, watch a spectacular sunset and sunrise, and even gaze at shooting stars. What’s more, you’ll visit the Todra Gorges and Rose Valley. Finally, visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and drive through the High Atlas Mountains. The Fes to Marrakech Desert tour ends in Marrakech.
Day 1: Fes - Ifran - Midelt - Merzouga
The 3-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation — at 7:00 AM in winter and 8:00 AM in summer — ensuring enough time to reach the majestic dunes of the Sahara and witness a breathtaking sunset at Erg Chebbi.
We head south, crossing the fertile Saiss plains and climbing into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we pass through the alpine-style town of Ifrane — often dubbed the “Switzerland of Morocco” — and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to the playful Barbary macaques. These friendly monkeys are often seen along the roadside, offering a great photo opportunity.
The journey continues to Midelt, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas ranges, where we pause for a lunch break.
In the afternoon, we traverse the impressive Tizi N-Talghoumt pass, descend into the Ziz Valley, and follow the Ziz River as it winds through dramatic gorges and vast palm groves. Along the route, you’ll spot traditional Kasbahs and ksour, offering glimpses of life in the pre-Saharan oases.
By late afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where your adventure truly begins. A camel ridethrough the sweeping dunes leads you deep into the desert’s heart. As the sun dips below the golden sand, witness the mesmerizing display of colors that make Erg Chebbi a world-renowned sunset spot.
Upon reaching your Sahara desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with traditional mint tea. After freshening up, enjoy a warm dinner served under a canopy of stars. The night is brought to life with nomadic music and drumming by the campfire, where local Berbers sing songs of love, tradition, and desert life — a magical end to your first day in the Sahara.
Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Tinghir - Boumalne Dades
Start your day with an invigorating camel ride during the early sunrise, and then meet up with your guide in Merzouga. Get ready for a captivating journey as you enjoy a drive that showcases one breathtaking scene after another. Prepare to be mesmerized by the remarkable oasis of Tinghir, where you’ll have the opportunity to stroll along the Todgha riverbank, visit Berber villages, and gain insight into the local inhabitants’ way of life. Continue your walk to the awe-inspiring Todgha Canyons and indulge in a delightful lunch at a charming local cafe.
In the afternoon, travel along the picturesque road of the Casbahs, making your way to the enchanting Dades Valley before reaching your boutique guest house. As the day winds down, savor a delicious dinner and spend the night at the cozy lodge nestled in the scenic Dades Valley.
Relish in the beauty of the surroundings and create lasting memories on this remarkable journey through Morocco’s captivating landscapes.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades - Skoura oasis - Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou - Marrakech
After having breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through the Valley of the Roses towards Kalaa Mgouna. Consider paying a visit to one of the Rosewater cooperatives, where you can observe and gain insights into the traditional process of creating rose-scented perfumes using distilled rose water, as practiced by the local community.
Our journey continues towards Ouarzazate, passing by the renowned Skoura oasis adorned with date palm trees. Next, we’ll reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, where a delightful lunch awaits before we explore the Kasbah itself. This impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood movies, fashion shoots, and commercial productions. The well-preserved Kasbah comprises several interconnected structures, presenting a unified appearance.
In the afternoon, we initiate our descent through the Atlas Mountains, traversing the Tizi Ntichka Pass and passing by various Berber villages characterized by stone and mud houses. The unchanged lifestyle and predominantly pastoral occupation of the local inhabitants become evident as you witness their way of life, seemingly untouched by the passage of time.
As the late afternoon approaches, we arrive in Marrakech, where your driver will accompany you to your riad or hotel, ensuring a smooth conclusion to your private 3 Days tour from Fes to Marrakech.
