Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah – Zagora Desert
We start the first day of the trip with an early pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech city. Next, drive through the High Atlas mountain range passing by the Tizi N’tichka snaky road. Along the road, many pauses will be made to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the the Amazigh (Berber) villages located in the edge of the mountains. Then, continue to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah declared as UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. Upon arrival the Kasbah, have fun visiting this ancient buildings in which several Hollywood epics were filmed, including The Mummy, Gladiator, The Man Who Would Be A King, Lawrence of Arabia, as well as TV series like, “Game of Thrones.”
After lunch in Kasbah, We drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains via the Berber Villages, and the Draa Valley; considered as the Morocco’s biggest palm grove and longest watercourse. Finally, reach to Zagora in the afternoon, and start one of the highlights of the tour, you will start on Camels to middle of the sand dunes to enjoy the stunning views of the Desert and sunset. Then continuing to your Sahara Desert tent, where you will enjoy a Moroccan meal and live drumming entertainment beneath a starry open sky
Day 2: Zagora to Marrakech
Waking up early is a great idea in order to watch the sunrise in the middle of the Desert. After a delicious Moroccan breakfast. we head toward Ouarzazate city, known as “The Gate of the Desert”. First, you will visit Taourirt Kasbah; an ancient Kasbah built in the 17 century by Imzwarn (Amazigh people). Second, visit the Atlas Studios where world Hollywood movies were shot, such as the Kingdom of Heaven. Then continue the way back to the red city, Marrakech through the Tizi Ntichka pass
