Day Trip to Ouarzazate
Morocco Trips Company offers a full-day excursion from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and the historic Ait Ben Haddou. Your day begins at 7:00 AM with pickup from your accommodation by a professional driver in a comfortable, air-conditioned 4×4 vehicle.
During the scenic three-hour drive through the Atlas Mountains, you’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes and get a glimpse of traditional Berber village life.
The tour includes three major stops:
The first at the summit of Tizi n’Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco.
The second at the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
The third in Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa” due to its famous film studios and cinematic history.
After the tour, you’ll be comfortably driven back to Marrakech, with an estimated return time of 7:30 PM.

Day Trip to Ouarzazate and Ait ben Haddou
Your adventure begins at 8:00 AM, when your guide and driver will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Marrakech. From there, we journey toward Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Desert.”
Our first stop is at the charming village of Ait Berka, nestled at the base of the High Atlas Mountains—the highest mountain range in Morocco. The journey continues as we ascend the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass, located at 2,260 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Next, we visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, also known as the El Glaoui Kasbah, a former residence of the powerful Glaoui family. We then head to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its ancient architecture and rich history.
Ait Ben Haddou has served as a filming location for numerous blockbuster movies and series, including Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. After exploring the site, we’ll enjoy lunch with views of the kasbah before continuing to Ouarzazate.
In Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the renowned Atlas Studios and the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. These landmarks highlight the city’s important role in Moroccan cinema and history.
In the late afternoon, we return to Marrakech, where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation—marking the end of a memorable day exploring Morocco’s cinematic and cultural gems.
