Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech – Explore the Red City
Arrive in Marrakech, the vibrant Red City, and be transferred to your hotel. After freshening up, spend the rest of the day exploring the bustling Jemaa el-Fna Square and visit the Koutoubia Mosque, a symbol of the city’s beauty. Wander through the lively souks, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner in one of Marrakech’s top restaurants.
Day 2: Marrakech → Aït Benhaddou → Ouarzazate
After breakfast, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass and reach Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This stunning kasbah has been featured in several films, including Gladiator. Continue on to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, where you can visit the film studios before heading to your accommodation for the night.
Day 3: Ouarzazate → Skoura → Dades Valley
Explore the Valley of the Roses in Skoura, famous for its traditional Kasbahs and palm groves. Then, continue to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic cliffs and desert landscapes, where you will stay overnight in a charming guesthouse surrounded by nature.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
Today, stop at the stunning Todra Gorge for a short hike among the towering cliffs. Then, continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert, where you will embark on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp under the stars.
Day 5: Explore the Desert & Nomadic Culture
Wake up early to witness a spectacular Sahara sunrise. After a traditional breakfast, spend the day exploring the desert by 4×4, visit local nomadic families, and enjoy a traditional tea ceremony. Optional activities such as sandboarding or quad biking are available.
Day 6: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt
Leave the desert and travel through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and Berber villages. Stop for cultural encounters and lunch, then continue to Midelt, nestled in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 7: Midelt → Ifrane → Fès
Journey through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you might spot wild Barbary macaques. Stop in Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine charm, and then head to Fès, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities. Overnight in a traditional riad in the heart of Fès’ ancient medina.
Day 8: Guided Tour of Fès
Explore the historic Fès el-Bali medina with a local guide. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest continuous operating university in the world, and discover Fès’ bustling tanneries, artisan workshops, and beautiful palaces.
Day 9: Fès → Meknès → Volubilis
Today, explore Meknès, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, and visit the Bab Mansour gate and the Royal Stables. Then, continue to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city and UNESCO World Heritage site, to see the impressive ruins before returning to Fès for the night.
Day 10: Fès → Chefchaouen (Blue City)
Head to the picturesque Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Explore the blue-painted streets, squares, and alleys of this charming city. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the mountain air and spend the night in this tranquil location.
Day 11: Chefchaouen → Tangier
Continue to Tangier, a city with a unique blend of Moroccan and European influences. Visit the famous Kasbah, the American Legation, and take in the panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea before spending the night in this coastal city.
Day 12: Tangier → Rabat
Travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. Visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the charming streets and enjoy a peaceful evening in the city.
Day 13: Rabat → Casablanca
Continue to Casablanca, Morocco’s modern economic capital. Visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, and take a stroll along the Corniche, enjoying the views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 14: Casablanca → Marrakech
Return to Marrakech, where you can enjoy a free day to explore the city further. Visit the famous Majorelle Garden, or spend some time in the Saadian Tombs or the Bahia Palace before your final night in Morocco.
Day 15: Departure from Marrakech
Enjoy your final day in Marrakech. Depending on your flight time, you may have some time for last-minute shopping in the souks or relaxing at your riad before transferring to the airport for your departure.
